Dr. Maggie Azzi is a registered Doctor of Acupuncture, and a graduate of the Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.

Her background in studying the esoteric practices of Astrology and Tarot naturally led her to discover the power of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its associated cosmology. Her approach to health and healing is rooted in the daoist philosophy of living within the cyclical flow of nature, and she uses a variety of its modalities to facilitate healing, including Acupuncture, Cupping, Gua Sha, Electro-Acupuncture and Herbs. Dr. Maggie combines these techniques to create personalized, holistic treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.

Before entering the field of acupuncture, Dr. Maggie worked for several years in the hospitality industry. The demanding pace, late hours, and physical toll eventually led her to seek a new path. Through her own experience with acupuncture, she witnessed its profound ability to restore balance and vitality. This experience inspired her to pursue formal training and dedicate herself to helping others on their wellness journey.

Dr. Maggie is passionate about educating and empowering her patients, and believes that when people are active participants in their care, they’re better equipped to make lasting changes. She aims to provide a nurturing environment where individuals feel supported in addressing both acute concerns and long-term health goals.

I studied Remedial Massage Therapy at Western College in Regina SK. While there I learned sports massage therapy, orthopedic assessment, muscle energy techniques and manual soft tissue work. Over the years I became interested in finding ways to treat the body more holistically. I studied Psychology, Yoga, Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy and eventually became a Yoga Therapist. By combining the modalities I’ve studied and learned I came up with something I call Yoga Integration. Please see below to read more about Yoga Integration. I believe the body has a natural ability to heal, but sometimes we need help in order for healing to occur. I aim to facilitate the body’s natural ability to heal by creating the space for that healing to occur, whether it’s a physical injury, muscle tension, stress or something deeper. I also teach massage therapy at the college level part-time, as well as continue to teach yoga and yoga workshops. In January of 2024, I began a new journey to become an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner. While I’m in school I will be offering Ayurvedic health coaching at a discounted price.

I specialize in treating the following; Pre and post-orthopedic surgery, shoulder rehabilitation, fibromyalgia and physical pain, stress, anxiety, and depression.

I hold certifications in the following; Registered Massage Therapist, Myofascial Cupping, Yoga Therapist, Reiki Level 3 Practitioner, Yin Yoga Certification, Restorative Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga 200hr, Advanced Yoga Teacher Training, Cranial Sacral Therapy Level 1 (Upledger).

“I believe a good health practitioner is someone who can remain humble, curious, compassionate and maintain an open mind. After years of practice, I still uphold these values, maybe even more so! My treatment philosophy aligns with the fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine – health is an ongoing process of maintaining balance within the body. Locate the root or underlying cause of your issue in order to construct lasting change – supporting your body’s ability to perform its natural functions optimally with minimal interventions. I believe taking the time to go over all the variables and individual needs is vital to each person’s journey, I never want a patient to feel unheard. Collaboration, consistency and understanding are fundamental in achieving positive results with Chinese Medicine. I love being a pivotal part of my patients’ healthcare team! To be able to build long-lasting relationships, and see my patients through all their stages! Come for acute or chronic conditions and then to maintain health and longevity! I love what Chinese medicine can do and after all these years I still find myself incredibly passionate and humbled by this job!” - Dr. Yip
